Hearts player ratings v Raith Rovers as Andy Irving shines and Armand Gnanduillet grabs debut double

Hearts righted the wrong of the weekend by claiming all three points against Raith Rovers.

Goals from Liam Boyce, Euan Henderson and Armand Gnanduillet made for a comfortable night in Fife for the Jambos, especially after Regan Henry was sent off.

Here's how the Hearts players rated.

Craig Gordon: Had pretty much nothing to do in terms of making saves, with his role reduced to playing passes and clearing the ball on occasion. 6

Michael Smith: More disciplined than Kingsley when it came to attacking but wasn’t troubled going the other way. 7

Craig Halkett: Solid in the air against Duku after being bullied at the weekend by Ugwu. 7

Mihai Popescu: Played from the back and showed great skill and awareness to create a chance for Walker. 7

Stephen Kingsley: Constantly bombed down the left, beating men and delivering crosses while linking well with Mackay-Steven. 7

Andy Halliday: Should have scored with two great chances at 1-0 but had a good game aside from that. 7

Andy Irving: A fine display. Vision and range of passing cut Raith open time and again. 8

Josh Ginnelly: Looked bright but only lasted quarter of an hour before having to come off. 4

Jamie Wallker: Unlucky with an early chance but looked more like his old self. 7

Gary Mackay-Steven: Pace is a real threat especially on the break and looks sharper with each appearance. 7

Liam Boyce: Took his goal brilliantly and his strength, intelligence and movement was the difference for Hearts. 9

Subs

Euan Henderson: Was direct after coming on for Ginnelly and nicked the second goal while Hearts were well on top. 7

Armand Gnanduillet: The early signs are promising. Showed good strength, positing and striker’s instinct with a debut goal. 7

Steven Naismith: His usual self, barking instructions and demanding standards stayed high. 5
