Hearts player ratings v Inverness as Michael Smith struggles and Jamie Walker makes case for a start

Hearts were held to a 1-1 draw for the third week in a row after falling behind.

It moves them 12 points clear at the top of the Championship, but February has not been a good month for the Jambos.

Inverness took the lead through Miles Storey after an early Michael Smith error.

But as he's done on a few occasions already this season, Liam Boyce popped up with a goal to get Hearts back in it.

They had the better of the second half chances, but ultimately left disappointed.

Here's how they rated out of ten.

Craig Gordon: No chance with the Inverness goal, little to do otherwise. 6

Michael Smith: Bad mistake for the Inverness goal and wasn't effective enough going forward before getting injured. 5

Craig Halkett: Solid enough in the air, showed good strength. 7

Mihai Popescu: Wasteful in possession and lucky to get away with a late tangle with Todorov. 6

Stephen Kingsley: Touch was off and picked up an early booking. Not hitting his early season standards. 6

Andy Halliday: Poor, gave the ball away far too often and offered little. 5

Aaron McEneff: Positive enough, Started well and provided the cross for the goal. In comparison to teammates, is looking good even when he isn't doing all that much. 7

Gervane Kastaneer: Actually looked better when playing as a striker alongside Boyce but understandably replaced by Gnanduillet at the break. 4

Steven Naismith: Forced off by an injury but wasn't having a good game. 4

Gary Mackay-Steven: Poor start but came on to a game when he started running at people and taking his man on. 7

Liam Boyce: Was left too isolated at times but still took the big chance he got. Proving to be vital. 7

Subs:

Armand Gnanduillet: Put himself about and was very unlucky to not get a late winner. 6

Jamie Walker: Did more in half-an-hour than Naimsith did in an hour. 6

Andy Irving: Little time although could be argued he should've been on earlier. 4
