Hearts player ratings v Arbroath as most struggle for pass marks in turgid goalless draw

Hearts made hard work of a goalless draw at Arbroath in what was one of the poorest games of the season.

Neither team created much, although Robbie Neilson's side did at least go close on a couple of occasions after the break.

However, it was another display away from home that left a lot to be desired as Hearts edge towards the Championship finish line rather than motor.

Here's how they rated out of ten.

Craig Gordon: Didn't have a save to make. 6

Michael Smith: Indecisive and got away with a risky decision in the second half. Crossong was poor 5

Craig Halkett: Wasn't as dominant in the air us usual and looked hesitant. 6

Mihai Popescu: Almost had a horror show moment in the first half when he stumbled in possession with Gordon out of his goals. 5

Stephen Kingsley: Not his best again before being forced off with a groin injury. 5

Andy Irving: Couple of decent deliveries but generally not good enough in possession. 6

Aaron McEneff: First half passed him by and was replaced by White at the break. 4

Andy Halliday: Wasn't involved much in the first half, anonymous in the second. 5

Gary Mackay-Steven: Poor again and had nowhere near the impact expected. 5

Liam Boyce: Held the ball up but nothing really came off for him all game. 6

Armand Gnanduillet: Looked the most likely source of a goal and caused problems. 7

Subs

Aidy White: Didn't add much more than McEneff. 3

Gervane Kastaneer: Introduction saw Hearts improve slightly. 4

Jamie Walker: Didn't do much after coming on but can feel aggrieved not to have started. 4
