Hearts player ratings as Fiorentina cruise to Europa Conference League triumph

Craig Gordon 7

Kept the scoreline down with two smart stops in the first-half. Denied Igor with a stunning diving stop before turning clear a Saponara effort before the break. Well beaten for all three goals.

Michael Smith 5

Solid enough on the right-hand side of the back-five. Tenacious on defence and a willing runner going forward. Forced off before the hourmark with a suspected hamstring injury.

Lewis Neilson 4

Was shown a straight red card for silly foul on Luka Jovic, but he was perhaps unlucky not to just be cautioned. A disappointing evening after losing header for Fiorentina opener.

Stephen Kingsley 6

Stepped up to lead Hearts defence from the centre of the packed rearguard. Was decent defensively but needed help to repent relentless waves of attack from a talented opposition.

Alex Cochrane 5

Should have blocked Kouame's stunning bicycle kick finish for Fiorentina's second. Was often beaten to rebounds and couldn;t really get a grip on the game.

Andy Halliday 5

Gave his usual best when deployed in the Hearts defence but was a tough old night. Couldn't offer any threat going forward and was second-best in the battle on the flank.

Josh Ginnelly 6

Had just about Hearts' only effort with a low drive which was well saved by Gollini. Could have done better with the strike but was one of the better Maroon performers at Tynecastle.

Jorge Grant 5

Spent most of his night going backwards. Unable to dictate the play from the centre and was often overrun by the quality in the Fiorentina midfield. Hooked after the break.

Orestis Kiomourtzoglou 5

Another who struggled to compete in the centre of the park against an impressive opposition. Industrious in his efforts but was bypassed too often and lost his runners on occassion.

Barrie McKay 6

Seriously struggled to have any impact in a quiet first-half in Gorgie. Looked impressive in flashes after the break but wasn't afforded time or chance to show his undeniable ability in attack.

Lawrence Shankland 5

Up for every physical contest against a fierce Fiorentina backline but lacked any real quality service from his team-mates. Taken off early in second period after thankless night of effort up front.

Stephen Humphrys (for Shankland, 53) 4

Injected some energy and much-needed invention into the Hearts attack.

Cameron Devlin (for Grant, 53) 4

Typical battling performance. Dragged his team up the pitch but to no avail.

Nathaniel Atkinson (for Smith, 59) 3

Slotted in at right-back. Went close with powerful drive before offside flag was raised.

Gary Mackay-Steven (for McKay, 75) 2

Given late run out but had no chance to impact game.

Alan Forrest (for Ginnelly, 75) 2

Barely had a chance in his cameo appearance.
