Hearts' Olly Lee a major doubt for Scottish Cup final after injury against Celtic

Craig Levein revealed Olly Lee is a major doubt for Hearts ahead of next Saturday’s Scottish Cup final against Celtic after twisting his knee.

The midfielder had to be replaced early during the 2-1 defeat at Celtic Park as the Jambos rounded off their season against the same opponents they’ll face at Hamdpen in six days time.

A double from Mikey Johnston gave Neil Lennon’s team all three points despite en encouraging performance from a young Hearts side, who levelled in the first half through Jake Mulraney after an error for home ‘keeper Scott Bain.

Levein revealed Lee wasn’t initially going to start the game but had to change his plans due to an issue with Harry Cochrane.

Craig Levein hopeful Hearts trio will be fit for Scottish Cup final

“Olly’s twisted his knee so it doesn’t sound great,” Levein said afterwards. “He wasn’t supposed to start but Harry was ill yesterday and didn’t feel any better today so I put Olly in and that’s what happens.

“He thought it might be okay to carry on and went and tried it but he felt it again. It’s not good.

“It was low key game but I’m sure there will be a lot more going on this weekend.

“I was pleased with the kids’ performance but I was disappointed to lose the game and obviously Olly being injured.

“We have got a few on the sidelines but I am still hoping Uche [Ikpeazu], Peter [Haring] and Arnaud [Djoum] will be fit. They are big players for us.”
