Hearts news headlines as one club legend returns and another admits they're the only one he'd now work for

Your Hearts headlines for Wednesday 15 July

JJ’s back

With the appointment of a sporting director still a ways off, Ann Budge has reached out to Hearts legend Jim Jefferies, who will act as an advisor to the board on a part-time basis for six months.

He’ll be on hand to work with Budge to sign the players manager Robbie Neilson wants and help move on the ones he doesn’t want to keep.

Jefferies has left his role as sporting director at League Two Edinburgh City as a result.

Robbie’s attention to detail and George Burley calling the opposition ‘s***e’

Robbie Neilson admits he wasn’t the most technically gifted of players, but paid attention in order to try and gain an advantage.

And he believes it’s helped him relate to his players as a manager, unlike those who payed at the very top.

His own self assessment wasn’t as harsh as George Burley’s of the players his Hearts team were about to face, which were to the point and none too complimentary.

Gordon Forrest free to make Hearts switch

Lee McCulloch’s departure from Dundee United has him odds on to rejoin Robbie Neilson at Tynecastle, and it seems Gordon Forrest could be on his way too.

Tannadice boss Micky Mellon confirmed that Forrest is in the process of leaving United and Neilson could very well add him to his coaching staff along with McCulloch, althogh it may not happen immediately.

Stephane Adam wants to come home

The Hearts legend has previously coached in France and South Africa, but admitted that now only an offer to join the Jambos in a “technical role” would tempt him back into football.

And with former manager Jim Jefferies back in the house, the former striker perhaps thought his chances of a gig increased as a result.
