Hearts new boy Elliott Frear says Tynecastle factor was key in making transfer decision an easy one

Hearts new boy Elliott Frear says the chance to play at Tynecastle made his decision to sign for the club an easy one.

The 29-year-old was unveiled as a Hearts player this afternoon, joining on a one-year deal.

He says he was sold on the move after a short chat with boss Robbie Neilson, but didn't need too much convincing anyway.

He told the Hearts club website: “I spoke to Robbie over the summer and it was a no-brainer. I know exactly what the club’s all about, it’s a massive club and I’m delighted to be here.

“I’ve played at Tynecastle a few times with Motherwell. I remember it being quite daunting to play here, the crowd are right on you and I remember thinking when I walked out the tunnel that it would be amazing to play for a club like this.

“I’m absolutely delighted I’ve got the chance to represent this club and hopefully there’s a good season to come.

“The gaffer told me to come in and play my normal game. I’ll look to get it out wide, beat a few people and into the box. We’ve got good players here so there’s no reason why we can’t do well this year. “

Frear joins new signings Craig Gordon and Jordan Roberts in strengthening the starting XI at Hearts.

Frear spent more than two years at Motherwell before joining Forest Green Rovers on a short term deal last year.
