Only one thing dominated the agenda as far as Hearts were concerned this afternoon, as it has for what seems like eternity – league reconstruction.
It wasn’t the result the Jambos were hoping for, as the SPFL confirmed there would be no extended top flight next season and that they would indeed be plying their trade in the second tier from 17 October.
But that's not the end of it as far as Ann Budge in concerned.
Legal eagle
Budge’s league reconstruction proposal failed to get past the second consultation stage after the SPFL revealed that there was not enough support from other clubs to take it to a formal resolution.
And that means the Tynecastle club will be seeing the SPFL in court, after confirming they’ve already started legal proceedings.
As to how that will impact the league, we don’t yet know. But if they can’t won’t let Hearts play, then they might have to pay.
Die Hearts with a vengeance
Craig Levein was talking again, and he’s in no doubt that hearts will win promotion back t the Scottish Premiership at the first time of action.
But it’s once they’re back in the top flight then the fun and games will really start.
There will be scores to settle and his former club won’t forget who refused to help when they needed it.
There was even a stark warning for lowly Cowdenbeath.
Robbo’s return wrecked
Daniel Stendel now looks almost certain to leave the club with the break clause in his contract in the vent of relegation now absolutely nailed on to be valid.
Club legend Robertson had been touted as a potential replacement as someone to guide the club where he is loved back to the promised land.
ICT, perhaps sensing what was coming, moved to tie him down to an extended contract.
That might not dissuade Hearts, but will make the Hammer of the Hibs more expensive.
