Hearts manager Robbie Neilson gives his verdict on Craig Gordon's error in match

Craig Gordon's error in Hearts' 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock was just misfortune according to manager Robbie Neilson.

Chris Stokes put the Rugby Park club ahead in the Premiership clash before a ball was played back to the Scotland number one. Gordon slipped, allowing former Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty to nip and double his side's lead. Stephen Humphrys started the comeback mission and a fantastic long-range Nathaniel Atkinson strike ensured the Jambos headed back to Tynecastle with something.

Neilson insists that with his playing out from the back mantra no matter the conditions, situations like Gordon's are likely to occur: "It's just a slip. He's on that surface, the ball comes to him and he slides. You saw a lot of boys doing that and it was at a key moment. But we ask the players to play, ask them to pass, and we try to build from the back. If you ask them to do that, they're going to make mistakes. It happens.

"We've had a number of European games, a huge one on Thursday while most of the other teams prepare week to week.

"The next couple of weeks will be like that too. We have Fiorentina on Thursday then travel up to Aberdeen. That asks a lot of the players but they're starting to adapt to it.

To work right the way through to the 95th minute to get us a point was great from them. The boys actually then wanted to go again and get three points. That's what we need here."
