Hearts have issued a flag plea to fans in order to kit out Tynecastle.
The Jambos make their long awaited return to competitive action next Tuesday when they host Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Betfred Cup.
There will of course be no fans in attendance, but the club have asked that punters lend their flags in order to display them in the stands.
Fans can drop off their flags at the Clubstore from today until Saturday in time for Tuesday’s encounter.
Hearts have asked that all flags be labeled with contact details on the back so that they can be returned.
The club has also made it clear that offensive flags will not be displayed and should not be dropped off.
It could see the return of the 2012 Scottish Cup final “big flag”, which was made up for the now famous Hampden humiliation of Hibs.
It features the images of Dave McKay, John Robertson, John Cumming, Paul Hartley and Rudi Skacel, with the famous Cumming quote: “Blood doesn’t show on a maroon jersey” underneath.
The flag was displayed at the top of the Roseburn Stand for a time the following season.
