Hamilton Accies Women’s head coach Gary Doctor admits his side have missed a big chance by losing to Hearts in a bottom of the table SWPL 1 battle.
The Jambos edged out the tight affair thanks to a goal from Lia Tweedie. It leaves Accies rooted to the bottom of the league, sitting on five points from 10 games.
Doctor’s side only play once more before the end of the year in league action - a crucial clash with second-bottom Aberdeen.
The Accies head coach said: “I’ve had a couple days to reflect upon it and we feel like it was a game there for the taking.
“Our form going into it had been pretty good, albeit we weren’t getting the results. We didn’t quite get up to that on Sunday. We never showed what we have in the previous games.
“Hearts scored with the one quality strike at goal within the game. It made the difference but I don’t think there was a lot in it.
“It’s frustrating as it’s another narrow defeat. We are competing very well in almost every game. But those fine moments are what we need to learn from. We shouldn’t have conceded and we were punished.”
