Premiership pair Hearts and Motherwell are demanding answers from the SPFL over the continued lock-out of supporters for games away at Rangers and Celtic.
Jambos boss Robbie Neilson and Hibs rival Jack Ross pleaded publicly this week to allow travelling fans back into the two biggest club stadiums in the land.
And now Hearts and the Steelmen have escalated their approach by seeking clarification over the rules as their punters demand answers. Motherwell were also without supporters for their recent 1-1 draw in Govan.
Rule I27 of the SPFL regulations reads: "Home clubs must make provision for the admission of such reasonable number of visiting supporters as may be agreed in advance with the visiting club and, in the event of their being unable to agree such number no later than 14 days prior to the date of the match in question, the number of visiting supporters allowed shall be determined by the board."
And the Daily Mail report the league body have been asked to enter dialogue with Rangers over coming to agreement on how many Hearts fans will attend when their side visit on October 16.
Both the Ibrox side and Celtic's home league matches haven't had any away fans due to rehousing supporters who would suit in the area that currently make up the Covid 'red zone' for players and coaching staff.
