Hearts and Hibs are both celebrating high profile birthdays today and the Jambos used the occasion to indulge in some good, old fashioned social media patter.
Hibs head coach Paul Heckingbottom celebrates his 42 birthday today, and as is customary these days, the club sent out a congratulatory tweet to the gaffer.
A fan responded letting them know it was also his birthday, with Hibs congratulating him on being “in esteemed company.”
Hearts didn’t miss a beat however, adding their own reply agreeing, except including a picture of club legend and scourge of Hibs Rudi Skacel, who just happens to be celebrating his 40 birthday on the same date.
The Czech midfielder won the Scottish Club twice over three spells at Tynecastle, scoring twice in the 5-1 demolition of their neighbours in the 2012 final at Hampden.
Going by the deluge of various clapping and laughing gifs in response, Jambos and even some Hibees can appreciate some quick wit from the other side of the city once in a while.
