Hearts goalkeeper Colin Doyle has joined Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on-loan

Hearts 'keeper Colin Doyle has joined Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on-loan.

The 35-year-old signed for Hearts two seasons ago but has struggled to nail down the number one jersey at the club.

He follows in the footsteps of former Jambos teammate Clevid Dikamona who joined Killie last week.

Doyle's loan deal will take him up to January, and he'll provide cover for the injured Kilmarnock Jake Eastwood.

Killie boss Alex Dyer told the club website: “After what has happened to Jake in terms of his unfortunate injury, I felt it was important to bring in an experienced goalkeeper, who has knowledge of the league.

“Colin has experience of playing in big games and we welcome him to the club.”

Doyle added: “I’m really pleased to join Kilmarnock and I’m excited by the opportunity to play football again.

“I’m looking forward to meeting up with the lads tomorrow and hopefully I can show what I can do for the team whenever I’m given an opportunity.”

Confirming the news, Hearts said: "Colin Doyle has completed a loan move to Kilmarnock.

"The Irish goalkeeper moves to Rugby Park until January.

"35-year-old Colin joined Hearts in July 2018 and has made 13 first team appearances for the Jambos."
