Hearts' first game of the season against Aberdeen put back 24 hours

Hearts’ opening game of the 2019/20 Scottish Premiership season away at Aberdeen has now been put back 24 hours.

The Jambos were scheduled to head to Pittodrie on Saturday 3 August.

But the Dons’ 4-2 aggregate Europa League qualifying won over RoPS of Finland means that will now be played on Sunday 4 August.

Derek McInnes’ side will now face Chikhura Sachkere of Georgia in the next round. They will travel away for the first leg next Thursday, before playing the return a week later.

That would leave just one day between that match the season curtain-raiser, so the latter has been moved back 24 hours.

Hearts are next in action on Wednesday night when they welcome Stenhousemuir to Tynecastle in their penultimate Betfred Cup Group A fixture.

They finish up against East Fife on Saturday 27 July before facing Aberdeen the following weekend.
