Hearts fans unveil 'Neilson Out' banner outside Tynecastle just one day after return

Hearts fans have incredibly unveiled a banner calling for Robbie Neilson's exit just one day after his return to the club from Dundee United.

Neilson signed a three-year contract with the Jambos on Sunday but some fans have shown they still haven't forgotten how his last spell ended when some were unhappy with his football.

Back then, there was a plane that flew over a game which read: "No Style, No Bottle, Neilson out".

There was no flying this time but some fans made their views clear by holding up a banner which read 'Neilson Out' outside the main stand at Tynecastle.

The majority of Hearts supporters appear to be onside with the appointment but the small minority are making their feelings clear with their banner.

During Neilson's first spell at the club, Hearts were promoted from the Championship after comfortably winning the league despite Rangers and Hibs also being in the division.

They were then sitting second in the Premiership when he left to go join MK Dons in England.

But some supporters are still angry about his record against Hibs, as well as the fact they threw away a two goal lead before the Easter Road club went on to win the Scottish Cup in 2016.

Speaking about his return to Tynecastle, Neilson said: "You don’t turn down the chance to come to a club like Hearts and I’m absolutely delighted to be coming back.

“I had some great experiences here, both as a player and manager, and I'm keen to pick up where I left off.

“Everyone knows there is a really good squad at Hearts and I’m excited to begin working with the players and staff.

“Finally, I’d like to say thank you to Dundee United for the opportunity they gave me two years ago. I hope the United fans feel that together we managed to restore the club back to where it belongs.”
