Hearts fans in Craig Levein sack chant as St Johnstone pile more misery on Jambos

Hearts fans chanted for Craig Levein to be axed following their latest defeat.

The Jambos went down to St Johnstone 1-0 at McDiarmid Park as the pressure was eased on Levein’s counterpart Tommy Wright.

Christophe Berra scored at the wrong end  in the 59 minute to heap yet more misery on his manager. David Wotherspoon swung in the corner and Jason Kerr challenged for it but missed the ball and it came off Berra – then ended up in the back of the net.

Hearts go into Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi-final showdown on a poor run of form that has yielded them just one win in their last seven games.

And supporters in Perth made their feelings clear. They chanted, "Craig Levein, we want you to go" as the heat was cranked up yet another notch on the embattled manager.

Then at the final whistle Saints fans joined in with chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” to Levein.

Meanwhile, Saints boss Wright savoured a big win that has lifted them to eighth place in the Premiership.
