Hearts fans go wild for David Weir director of football link

After Robbie Neilson's arrival at Hearts, Ann Budge doesn't seem to be wasting any time appointing a new director of football.

The Daily Record claim the Jambos have targeted Rangers hero Davie Weir for the vacant position.

Weir has recently worked as a pathway development manager for Brighton, with previous spells as a No.2 for the Ibrox club and Nottingham Forest since hanging up his boots.

The 50-year-old won the Scottish Cup in 1998 with Hearts and a return to Tynecastle would be a tempting proposition.

And there's no doubt whether Hearts fans would want to see him as Craig Levein's successor.
