Hearts face an extended wait to find out who their Scottish Cup second round opponents will be.
Robbie Neilson ’s team were handed an away tie at either Highland League Brora Rangers or East of Scotland Premier League outfit Camelon Juniors - just weeks after losing the 2020 final to Celtic on penalties.
The two were originally scheduled to go head to head at Camelon’s Carmuirs Park after the first attempt at playing the first round tie had to be abandoned due to bad weather.
However, an early call was made to move the game to Monday night after the weather forecast didn’t offer much hope of the frozen pitch thawing in time.
However, the match has now been put back 48 hours until Wednesday night with temperatures over the next 24 hours not conducive to a softer pitch.
The pair will now face off for the right to face The Jambos next Saturday at Westfield Park in Denny.
Should that matched also fall foul of the conditions then the second round meeting with Hearts could be under threat.
Neilson is keen to have a game next weekend after going down 3-1 to Dundee in the Championship on Saturday night.
“The league is all about how you recover from losing,” he told Hearts TV. “It’s the most important thing.
“Any team that goes through a campaign will lose games. It’s just part and parcel of football.
“It’s about how you recover and hopefully get a win the next week.
“We’ve hopefully got a Scottish Cup game this week if the Camelon one goes ahead and then we look forward to quite a good run of fixtures coming up for us.”
