Alloa boss Peter Grant branded the decision to dismiss Lucas Williamson during his side's defeat to Hearts "a disgrace" but admitted his side did not deserve to take anything from the game.
Referee Alan Muir showed a second yellow card to the 17-year-old following an incident with debutant Gary Mackay-Steven in the second half as the Robbie Neilson's men strengthened their hold on top spot in the Scottish Championship with a 3-1 win in Clackmannanshire.
Elliott Frear added to Andy Irving's brilliantly taken opener to give the visitors a commanding 2-0 advantage before a late Kevin Cawley header put the Wasps back in it three minutes from time.
Josh Ginnelly rolled the clincher into an empty net after Alloa keeper Neil Parry went forward for a stoppage time corner to seal the win, but Grant was left raging at the referee's assistant over the decision to dismiss the teenager six minutes from time.
“The sending off was a disgrace. I’ve become used to that. That’s not the excuse as to why we got beat but the sending off is a disgrace," he said.
"I feel for the referee sometimes because linesman stand next to it and they don’t know what to do.
"He’s actually headered the ball and it hits Mackay-Steven in the face."
Grant added: "The first half was disappointing, especially the timing of the second goal, because I thought we were well in the game in the first half. Second half was a bit harder for us for a period.
"We knew we were going to be playing a good side, there’s no getting away from that but I’m just disappointed with the way we lost the goals.”
