Hearts confirm extension of Cammy Devlin's contract

Cammy Devlin contract with Hearts has been extended.

The 25-year-old's current deal has been extended by a further year, meaning the Australian is committed to the club until the summer of 2025.

The Tynecastle outfit has this morning announced that they have taken up its option to keep the Australia international at the club for up to a further two years.

Devlin has proved to be a real hit with supporters in Gorgie since his arrival from Newcastle Jets in 2021.

He has scored five goals in 81 appearances during that time, including a double in the Europa Conference League qualifiers against Rosenborg.

Devlin has been recognised by his national team in that time too, representing Australia at the 2022 World Cup last winter.

Head coach Steven Naismith is delighted to tie down a key member of his squad.

He said: “It’s great news that Cammy will be a Hearts player beyond the end of this season.

“It shouldn’t be underestimated how difficult it is for a young player to move to the other side of the world and adapt to a different style of football as well as a different way of life.

“But it’s to Cammy’s credit that he’s done it seamlessly. He gets the club, gets the expectations of playing for Hearts and he thrives on it.

“He’s always improving and I’m excited to see just how far he push himself, and the team, forward.”

Sporting Director Joe Savage added: “Cammy’s made a huge impact since we brought him to the club so it really was a no-brainer to activate our year’s option on his contract.

“He never gives anything less than 100% on the pitch, and his performances for Hearts got him to a World Cup.

“I know he’s a fans’ favourite so I’m sure they’ll be as happy as we are that he will be a Hearts player for even longer.

“Cammy and the club have been good for each other so we’ll sit down in the near future and hopefully open talks about a brand new deal.”
