Hearts assistants Lee McCulloch and Gordon Forrest missed Livingston win due to positive Covid test

Lee McCuclloch and Gordon Forrest were absent from Hearts ' win at Livingston due to a positive Covid test.

Robbie Neilson 's assistants weren't in the dugout for the 1-0 Premiership victory at the Tony Macaroni Arena, with Steven Naismith and Paul Gallacher alongside the Jambos boss.

The pair were identified as close contacts to a positive test and are both isolating as they await results of their own tests and haven't been taking part in training at the club's Oriam base.

It's understood Neilson is not affected as the duo work in a separate office, while none of the players are either as they only come into contact with them outside.

A Hearts spokesperson told the Edinburgh Evening News : “A member of the backroom team tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently isolating. Two further members of the backroom team are also isolating and awaiting results of PCR tests.

“As always, the club has followed Scottish Government guidelines to the letter and our rigorous testing and safety procedures means that no other individuals have been affected.”

Liam Boyce 's second half strike after a lovely move involving John Souttar and Barrie McKay won yesterday's match.

But it came after a below par first half in which the hosts completely dominated and the Tynecastle side had the heroic Craig Gordon to thank for keeping them in it once again.
