Hearts and Papa John's in bizarre Twitter beef as badge mishap leaves Jambos cheesed off

Pizza company Papa John's found themselves in hot water with Hearts in a bizarre Twitter beef.

The SPFL sponsor announced their competition to win a free pizza on Tuesday afternoon as they asked their followers who they were supporting for the upcoming season.

The Premiership, Championship and Leagues One and Two restart this weekend with Robbie Neilson's Jambos hosting Celtic on Saturday night.

But curiously, the Hearts badge was the only one of the 42 SPFL clubs bizarrely left out of the GIF that accompanied the Papa John's Tweet.

And that wasn't lost on the admin for the Edinburgh side who made a cheeky reference to one of their competitors.

After Papa John's asked followers who they'd be supporting, Hearts replied: "Domino's."

While fans across the league wait to see if they're lucky enough to scoop some free double pepperoni, 4,535 Jambos will be able to attend the opening day fixture after an announcement from the club on Tuesday.

City of Edinburgh Council have agreed to allow a 50 per cent increase from the last home game against Inverness in the Premier Sports Cup.

Successful season ticket holders who entered the ticket ballot will be notified on Wednesday.
