Hearts and Hibs fixture change as first Edinburgh Derby of the season picked for TV

Hearts have announced a change to the scheduled first Edinburgh Derby of the new season.

The Jambos were set to take on their arch enemies from across the capital for the first time since the 2020 Scottish Cup semi-final in an 8pm kick-off on Saturday, September 11, under the floodlights at Tynecastle.

However, Sky Sports have revealed a list of fixtures they've decided to screen in the first few months of the campaign, and chief among them is Hearts v Hibs.

The mouthwatering contest will now take place on Sunday, September 12, with a 12:00pm kick-off, as Robbie Neilson 's side look to reassert their authority as a Premiership outfit.

With Neilson's men competing in the Championship last season, it's the first time the pair will have met in the top-flight Hearts' 3-1 victory at Easter Road under Daniel Stendel in March 2020, with Sean Clare, Oli Bozanic and Conor Washington scoring the goals.
