Dundee and Hearts will renew their rivalry next season after the Dens park club won promotion to the Premiership.
They won the promotion play-off final 4-2 on aggregate, condemning Kilmarnock to the second tier for the first time in 28 years.
First leg strikes from former Jambo Jordan McGhee and Charlie Adam gave Dundee the advantage despite Brandon Haunstrup pulling one back.
Goals in the opening 12 minutes from Danny Mullen and Lee Ashcroft had the Ayrshire team sunk early on in the second leg, with Kyle Lafferty's second half penalty not enough for Tommy Wright's team.
James McPake’s side finished second in the Championship table - 12 points behind Robbie Neilson’s champions.
Crucially however, they leapfrogged Raith Rovers on the last day of the season, giving them one less round of play-off fixtures to negotiate, and they dispatched the Fife outfit 3-1 in the semi-final.
There was no love lost between Hearts and Dundee last season following the latter’s conduct during the voting process that ultimately saw the Tynecastle club lose their top flight status.
They exacted some form of revenge by thumping them 6-2 on the opening night of the Championship season.
Dundee then won 3-1 at Dens at New Year before Hearts won 2-1 in the final league meeting of the season.
