Heartless vandals smash charity Blood Bike Leinster's valuable vehicle in cruel attack

A Dublin charity has described its disgust at waking up this morning and discovering that its valuable charity vehicle had been smashed by vandals.

The thugs broke the glass on the front windscreen of Blood Bike Leinster's van which is used in transporting bloods from hospitals and laboratories free of charge.

The charity told Dublin Live that the vandalised van is "another expense" they didn't need.

They said: "It was damaged some time either last night or early this morning.

"The front windscreen was broken. The vehicle was parked in a cul de sac in Newbridge with only one way in and out so they had to go out of their way to find it. No other vehicle was touched in the area either."

The pointless attack saw nothing stolen from the van but just the windscreen smashed leaving it unroadworthy until repaired.

They added: "The vehicle has had to be taken off the road now due to this until we can get it repaired. It's just another expense we could have done without."

Shocked followers of the charity were horrified to think that the van would be targeted in this way.

One said: "The lowest of the low. Must never have been taught to respect other people's property. Hope they never need your great service."

Another added: "What makes a person do something like this. I'm sorry to hear and all the wonderful work you do. Please God no-one suffers because of this
