Heartless thugs torched a children's playground in North Dublin overnight, leaving the area destroyed.
The Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the blaze in Coolock shortly before midnight yesterday.
They tweeted photos of their brave firefighters putting out the fire, and appealed to the public to report any such anti-social behaviour to gardai.
They said: "Firefighters extinguished a children’s play area set alight in Coolock just before midnight last night.
"Unfortunately despite best efforts the play area has been destroyed. Please report suspicious or anti-social activity to An Garda Siochana.
The DFB tweet has led to Dubliners venting their anger at such wanton and idiotic violence.

One user posted: "You’d have to wonder are there special kinds of p****s to do this to a kids playground or just ‘normal, we’re bored and have nothing to do’ kind!?!?!?"
Another tweeted: "It takes a special kind of twisted thug to destroy a kids playground."
A third said: "And these are the same people who will complain that they nowhere or nothing to do with their kids."
Another agreed, writing: "We’re bored and we’ve got nothing to do because we keep destroying the amenities in our community. Numbskulls."
