As many as three people are believed to be involved in a current spate of housing break-ins that are scaring locals in the outer suburbs of Dublin.
The latest sting of break-ins in Clonsilla saw the heartless thieves gain access to a home and steal a van and laptop all while the occupants of the house slept soundly in their bed.
The homeowners said: "Three people prowling the Briarwood area targeting certain front doors that they know how to get access to.
"They got in our front door at 3:45am on Friday morning and took the keys to the van and a laptop while we were in bed."
This is the latest in a long line of reported attempted break-ins in the area in the last week.
Just 24 hours previous, a house in the same estate was targeted but thieves fled when the occupants of the house disturbed them during the act.
A spokeswoman for Gardai told Dublin Live that investigations were ongoing into the alleged break-ins and that no arrests had been made yet.
