Heartless thieves steal minibus from West Lothian charity

Thieves who stole a minibus from a West Lothian charity have been described as "heartless".

The vehicle belonged to childcare provider Simply Play and was taken from outside Simpson Primary School at some point over the weekend.

The minibus was used to transport kids who use the service and bosses say they will lose out if it's not found.

They have appealed to the public to keep their out or come forward if they have any information.

CEO Raymond Branton said: "Everyone is gutted with this heartless theft.

"The last year has been tough enough on childcare providers and as a local charity, this will cost us money that we can ill afford.

"Hopefully, with the power of social media, someone will spot it but as usual, it is the children who will lose out.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.25am on Wednesday, April 14, we received a report of the theft of a vehicle from a premises on Leyland Road in Bathgate. Enquires are ongoing."

Any information can be passed to admin@simplyplay.org or by calling 01506856444.

Alternatively call Police Scotland on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
