A care worker has been left high and dry after heartless thieves stole her car from outside her home.
Katie West, 23, who relies on the white Vauxhall Corsa to get her to shifts at the home she works in, is now warning others to be on their guard.
And she took to Facebook to ask townsfolk to keep their eyes peeled for the car in and around East Kilbride.
The vehicle - registration SA18 BZJ - was stolen from Coniston in Newlandsmuir overnight on Sunday into Monday.
Devastated Katie told the East Kilbride News: "I got home on Sunday evening and parked up outside my house and when I went out on Monday morning at about 11.30am it was gone.
"I did a double-take at first and thought I was imagining things but it quickly dawned on me that it was gone.
"I work in a care home and do night shifts so the car is essential - I'm lost without it.
"It's just gutting to be honest. I work hard to be able to get things like the car only for someone to do this.
"I also have a horse stabled in Stonehouse which I need to look after so it causes big problems for me all round.
"I had to get a shift swapped to deal with all this - which someone kindly did - and my dad is going to have to run me back and forward to work until I get things sorted.
"The Facebook post was more out of desperation than anything - just in the hope that someone might me able to help. And I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else."
Police are investigating and say enquiries are ongoing.
