Heartless thief leaves family distraught after stealing memorial which has sat in cemetery for 18 years

A cruel thief has left a family heartbroken after stealing a graveyard memorial. The statue was taken from the grounds of All Saints Church on Hey Shoot Lane in Birchwood, Warrington.

It is believed to have snatched sometime between 2pm on Monday 16 May and 9am on Friday 20 May. About three foot in height it has a metal sundial attached to the top of it.

PC Matt Hankin, of Warrington local policing unit, said: "The family the memorial statue belongs to has been left distraught that someone has stolen it from them. It has been at the graveyard for at least 18 years and is hugely sentimental to them.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may hold information that could help in identifying who has stolen the statue and hope to be able to return it to them. If you can help with our investigation either with information, CCTV, or dash cam footage within the local area or perhaps saw someone acting suspiciously please do get in touch with us."
