Heartland actor Robert Cormier's cause of death revealed by devastated sister

Robert Cormier tragically passed away at the age of 33, and his devastated sister now revealing his cause of death.

The actor was best known for his role as Finn Cotter on long-running family drama series Heartland. He sadly passed away on Friday in a hospital in Etobicoke, Ontario, after a serious fall.

Robert suffered fatal injuries during the fall, his sister Stephanie told The Hollywood Reporter.

Robert appeared on Heartland's 15th season as a new love interest for Amy Mitchell and is expected to be featured on the 16th season which premieres on October 2.

His heartbroken siblings paid tribute to the late star ahead of his funeral which has been scheduled for Sunday.

"Robert was an athlete, an actor, and a great brother. He had a passion for helping others and was always looking to achieve more," his obituary read.

"He enjoyed movie nights with his family, and looked up greatly to his father. He impacted many people throughout his life whether it was family, teammates and friends."

It continued: "Rob's memory will live on through his passion for art and film; as well as his three sisters who meant the world to him."

In addition to his role on Heartland, Cormier also appeared on Netflix's Slasher series and in episodes of American Gods and Ransom.

Robert's co-star Michelle Morgan, who plays Lou Fleming in Heartland, took to Instagram to pay tribute to Robert.

Sharing pictures of the two of them in character, she wrote: "You had so many more stories to tell. May you Rest In Peace Robert."

In the comments, Michelle thanked fans for their support. She said: " Thanks everyone it was a hard couple days on set for the whole cast and crew."

UPtv - the channel which airs Heartland - also paid tribute to the actor on their official Instagram page.

It read: "Robert Cormier, aka Heartland's Finn, was an amazing talent, gone too soon. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing.

"Our sincere condolences go out to his friends, family, and co-workers."

The official Heartland social media account also tweeted: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Robert Cormier. He was a beloved member of the Heartland cast the last two seasons.

"On behalf of the Heartland cast and crew, our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time."

Robert is survived by his parents, his three sisters, his grandmother and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
