Heartfelt tributes to man found dead near Wallasey Tunnel

Heartfelt tributes were paid to a man whose body was found close to the entrance of the Wallasey Tunnel in Liverpool city centre.

The discovery was made just before 12.55pm on Wednesday, April 21, by Bestway Cash and Carry.

Police and forensic officers attended the scene and a cordon was put in place around Kingsway Park.

The circumstances surrounding the man's death are not yet known.

Investigations are ongoing and police are working to identify the man's next of kin.

Teresa Anderson said: "So sad, thinking of all his poor family and friends. R.I.P."

In a statement on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that officers are attending Kingsway Park in Liverpool today (Wednesday 21 April) following the discovery of a man's body.

"The man was sadly found in bushes by Bestway Cash and Carry shortly before 12.55pm and pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and inform his next of kin."
