Heartfelt tributes pour in for young man, 43, found dead at Scottish farm

Tributes have poured in for a young man after his body was found at a Scottish farm.

The body was discovered at at Cardenbarns Farm, near Kirkcaldy, at around 10.30am on January 2.

The man has been named locally as Darren McIntryre, 43, from Cowdenbeath in Fife and has been described as a "good lad" by friends.

Police were called to Cardenbarns Farm where they tragically found the body of Mr McIntryre on a track.

Cops are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the death but say the death is not being treated as "suspicious."

Family member Ryan McIntryre shared a tribute to Darren online, penning: "I'm sure everyone has heard the tragic news.

"Thank you to everyone that shared this and helped look for Darren. A much loved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend will be sorely missed."

Tributes poured in for the man, who was said to be a keen football fan, with one person writing: "How heartbreaking, my deepest condolences go out to all his family and friends. R.I.P Darren."

Another added: "Devastated for this beautiful family, sending my sincere condolences to you all. May he rest in peace."

"Condolences to all the family. I knew Darren through the football. He was a good lad," penned a friend. "This news is devastating, rest easy my bluenose friend."

Another person paid tribute, adding: "I knew Darren from college a few years back he was a really nice guy, always the good ones that go R.I.P bud, My thoughts are with your family and friends."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police in Fife can confirm that the body of a 43-year old man was found on a track within the grounds of Cardenbarns Farm around 10.30am on Saturday, 2 January, 2021.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious."
