Heartfelt tributes paid to 'wonderful and bright' young Dublin teen who died in a biking accident

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a “wonderful and bright” young teen who died in a biking accident in north Dublin.

Naoise O’Sullivan, 13, from Killiney tragically lost his life after falling off his bike in Ticknock Forest on August 11.

Clonkeen College has shared an emotional tribute to the first-year student following the fatal accident.

School spokesman Barry O’Shaughnessy said: “The school has experienced the sudden death of one of our students. We are deeply saddened by his passing.

“Naoise O’Sullivan, a first-year student in A4, died in a biking accident in Ticknock on Tuesday 11th August. Naoise was a wonderful, bright, and enthusiastic pupil who will be sorely missed by his classmates and all at Clonkeen College.

“The family thank the two Clonkeen students who were with Naoise at the time of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with Naoise’s family and friends.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”

The Cabinteely Football Club also offered condolences to the O’Sullivan family.

A statement on their website read: “It is with deepest regret and sadness that all of us at Cabinteely FC offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the O’Sullivan family on the passing of their beloved son Naoise.

“Naiose’s brother, Rossa, is a member of our DDSL U-8 Reds, soon to be U-9s, managed by Jamie Brennan.

“Naoise had just completed his first year in Clonkeen College and tragically died in accidental circumstances.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.”

Naoise will be laid to rest this morning in a private funeral which will be streamed online.

A post on RIP.ie reads: “The death has occurred of Naoise O’Sullivan (Killiney, Co Dublin) on August 11, 2020 (tragically) following an accident. Naoise, beloved son of Sabrina and Mark, loving big brother of Rohan, Rossa, and Siofra.

“Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents, siblings, grandparents Avril, Daniel, Dymphna, and Ronnie, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many wonderful friends.

“Naoise’s funeral will take place privately on Tuesday at 11 am and can be viewed online.”
