Heartfelt tributes paid to 'lovely' Glasgow mum Shona McKenna after body recovered from River Clyde

Tributes have been paid to Glasgow mum Shona McKenna after a body was recovered from the River Clyde yesterday.

The tragic discovery was made near Dalmarnock at around 12.20pm on Wednesday, January 18 with the family of Shona, 46, informed by police.

Shona was first reported missing on January 9. Police Scotland confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Now, tributes have been paid to the Shettleston mum, with condolences to her family and friends.

Amongst those paying tribute was Glasgow comedian Susie McCabe who tweeted: "Hi folks , thanks to everyone who retweeted the posts about Shona. Today we received some terrible news and a lot of people are hurting. Please if you are struggling, please know there are organisations that can help."

Another added: "So sad to hear this news. Thoughts and prayers with the family. RIP dear lady."

One person said: "Sincere condolences from committee and staff of Wellhouse Housing Association. R.I.P Shona. Thoughts and prayers to all the family."

Another commenter added: "Thoughts are with Shauna's family and those who had the privilege of knowing and working with her."

A third said: "So sad to hear about this, was praying for a positive outcome for all her family, rest in peace."

Another tribute read: "Horrible heartbreaking news. Thinking of all her family and friends."

Meanwhile, others described Shona as a 'lovely woman': "Absolutely heartbroken. Thinking of you all at this sad time, rest in peace Shona such a lovely women".
