Tributes have poured in after police confirmed a body has been discovered in the search for missing man Joel McDiarmid.
We told how the 28-year-old had vanished from the Bathgate area last month.
His family had issued a desperate plea for information after he was last seen at his home around 4pm on Wednesday, November 17.
After police confirmed today that a body had been found, many took to social media to share their heartbreak.
One person said: “Saddened to be reading this and absolutely heart breaking news for his family. Rest easy.”
Another wrote: “Not the result we were all hoping for, but at least the family now have an ending. Rest in peace, Joel xx”
While another said: “Absolutely heartbroken to read this. I was so hoping for a different ending. RIP Joel.”
Police say formal identification is yet to take place, but Joel's family has been informed.
There are no suspicious circumstances, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
