Heartbroken Scots mum pays tribute to 'angel' teen son after 'unexplained' death

A heartbroken Scots mum has paid tribute to her 'angel' 15-year-old son after his tragic 'unexplained' death.

Police were called to a house in Corlundy Crescent in Crieff on Friday night, February 19, after the teenager had reportedly taken ill.

He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by cops.

The Perthshire youth has been named locally as Matthew Taylor.

Devastated mum Dee Taylor took to social media to thank well-wishers for the flood of messages of support she's received.

She wrote on Facebook: "I would just like to thank everyone for the such kind words and to let anyone who doesn’t know already that my youngest son Matthew passed away last night.

"Sweet dreams my dear boy. Sleep tight, you will always be my angel."

Tributes from other locals in the community have since flooded in for the youngster.

Sandy Black wrote: "He was such a likeable lad with such a flare for music.

|It was an absolute treat to hear him at the Muthill school singing group. I later saw him playing drums at the Perth schools music day.

"He definitely had the music in him. I can’t begin to imagine how you must be feeling my thoughts are with you."

Simon Humphries added: "I’m so sorry for your loss, Matty attended the after school boxing and was always a pleasure to be around."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We were made aware of the sudden death of a 15-year-old child shortly after 10.30pm on Friday, 19, February 2021.

“The boy took unwell at an address in Corlundy Crescent in Crieff and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
