Piers Morgan has sent his love to Kate Garraway after saying that he was left "heartbroken" by her ITV documentary this evening.
GMB presenter Kate, 53, documented husband Derek's journey over the last year since he contracted Covid-19 in March 2020.
The author, who has been described as having the worst Covid infection than any living patient, regained minimal consciousness in July and uttered his first word "pain" in October.
Throughout the documentary, Kate was seen speaking to Derek on FaceTime, pushing him forward towards recovery and opening up about his dark moments.
In a particularly devastating moment, Derek was seen telling Kate that he "can't go on" as they spoke via FaceTime.

Derek is seen sitting in his hospital bed as he tells Kate on FaceTime: "Kate, there's no way out. There's no way out."
"There's not way out in terms of what?” she replies.
"I've got to the point where I just think f*** it. Just f*** it," says Derek.
Kate asks: “As in die?”
“Yes," he says.

Kate repeats: “No, no.”
Tweeting about the documentary, Piers wrote: "This is heart-breaking."
After the documentary ended, Piers addressed Kate as he shared an image of Nelson Mandela and a quote stating: "It always seems impossible until it's done."

He wrote: "Love you @kategarraway."
Kate has been very vocal about the support that Piers has given her through her year from hell.
Following his sudden exit from GMB earlier this month, Kate said: "That's the thing about Piers, he is very passionate, he does fly kites and have debates but it always come from a place of authenticity, he always believes in what he says.
"And he's left, he's decided to quit and has he put it himself, 'fallen on his sword of free speech', but as you rightly say, I've known him a long time before this programme, our friendship will go on, our personal friendship, and he's been very supportive of me personally."
