Heartbroken partner of dad killed in Gwynedd crash says he showed her 'what true love feels like'

The partner of a motorcyclist killed in a crash on the A494 in Gwynedd has paid a moving tribute to him.

Faye Avis said her heart was broken following the death of Scott Adam Edwards, aged 30, in a crash with a VW Golf on Monday. She said he had shown her "what true true love feels like".

The young dad, who is originally from Wrexham, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, near Dolgellau. A passenger in the Golf was flown to hospital with serious injuries.

Ms Avis, 30, who is from Llandudno, said: "My whole life flipped upside down in a heartbeat. My heart is broken, and Scott has taken a massive part of me away to heaven with him and the thought of my life without him really is killing me."

Ms Avis said her partner left behind a distraught family including the "love of his life", his daughter Amaya, who is aged only seven. She told North Wales Live how she had recently been told that Scott was "plucking up the courage" to ask her to marry him.

With the blessing of the family, she is planning to take Mr Edwards' last name as a symbol of her love for him.

"He has shown me what true love feels like and for that I will always thank him," she said.

“There will never be a second, a minute, an hour that will go by where someone won’t be thinking of him. Scott made mine and everyone else’s world a better place no matter who he came across and from what background they came from, everyone was equal. He will truly be missed by so many people, there’s a massive hole gone in people’s hearts.

“An amazing man who treated me like his world, and my two girls like his own. Scott has left me with the warmest of memories and loved me in every way a woman can and should be loved.”

Mr Edwards' friends laid flowers at the site of where the accident took place yesterday.

A statement from North Wales Police confirmed a front seat passenger of the Golf was airlifted to Aintree hospital with serious injuries and the driver of the Golf received minor injuries.

Sergeant Jason Diamond, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was travelling along the A494 in this area at around 3.15pm and may have dashcam footage, to please contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Wales Police via webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference number Z076329.
