Heartbroken pals of Ayrshire teens launch fundraisers after deaths just hours apart

Fundraisers have been launched for two tragic Ayrshire teens who died within hours of each other last week.

Tributes have already been pouring in for Codey Brown, who was found dead in Kilmarnock, and Callum Dawson, who was found in Ayr on Sunday, March 17.

Police say they are not treating either of the deaths as suspicious.

Their deaths are not related.

Now, friends of both 18-year-olds have said up separate fundraisers in a bid to support their families in covering funeral costs.

A JustGiving page, set up for "beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend" Codey has already raised more than £1300, despite having a target of only £1000.

The page reads: "The family are still understandably shocked and devastated by her death.

"We would like to raise funds to offer support to them in anyway they may need it right now, and to give Codey the send off she deserves."

Teen dancer Codey was found by police near to a park on Dean Street at around 4.30pm.

We previously reported how dozens of friends paid tribute to the "beautiful, talented and amazing girl".

And her heartbroken sister, Teigan Brown, also wrote an emotional goodbye on Twitter.
