Heartbroken mum's tribute as promising Dublin GAA star tragically dies with Crumlin and Templeogue in mourning

Heartbroken family and friends have paid tribute to a promising Dublin GAA star who tragically died.

Jason Dwyer sadly died suddenly on April 10 and was buried over the weekend.

The colourful GAA and soccer player from Crumlin and Leaving Cert student with Templeogue College previously played for Dublin GAA's Juvenile squad.

He was also on the books of Ballyboden Ballyboden St. Enda’s GAA; St. John Bosco FC, Terenure Rangers FC; Mount Merrion Youth FC but most recently Bluebell United.

He is sadly missed by parents Brenda and late Jay, sister Niamh and much loved grandson of Ben and the late Maura, Kathleen and the late Michael.

Jason's mother said that Dublin GAA meant the world to him.

She said: "Cherish your children it’s a tough world for them. When I get my strength back there will be change in Jason’s name and I will call on every mother to do it with me. This should have never happened my beautiful baby boy."

Dublin GAA fans page added they were "absolutely heartbroken" to hear the passing of one of their own.

They said: "So very sad that this young man, Jason, has been taken before his time. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family."

Another commented: "What a fine young man Jason was. I cannot begin to imagine the immense heartache his loved ones must be going through. May Jason rest in heavenly peace and may his memory live on in all that knew and truly loved him."
