A heartbroken mum has shared her upset after going all out on a party for her daughter's third birthday, only for nobody to show up. The devoted mum invited 27 children and ordered a cake especially for the occasion, but her daughter had to celebrate alone after being the only child to turn up to party.
Revealing her devastation in a post to TikTok, mum Breanna Strong shared a video showing the sad scene. In it, the little girl can be seen sat by herself eating pizza, in what looks to be a soft play park. And when the mum pans around the empty room, there are several tables set up in the expectation the birthday girl's friends would join her.
Shared to @breannamstrong, the mum's video explained: "We invited 27 kids to Avery's 3rd birthday party. Not a single one of her friends showed up. Money and time wasted. Breaks my momma heart so bad. Literally going to go home and snuggle my babies."
Her caption added: "I wish I was making this up."
In the day since it was posted, the video has amassed over 44,000 likes and thousands of comments from parents who were sorry to hear what had happened.
One person replied: " This is a rule at my house. If we are invited, we’re GOING! We have been the only one that shows up. So sad this happens I’m so sorry."
A second wrote: "This happened to one of my daughters Now I make sure we show up to everyone’s party we are invited to. I never want to see that pain for any child."
And someone else said: "We go to every party we are invited to if we can. Most importantly if we rsvp Yes, we go. You don’t back out unless emergencies."
Meanwhile, a different commenter revealed: "This happened for my son’s 8th birthday and I lied and I told him it was my fault so he wouldn’t feel bad."
In response, Breanna wrote: "It’s not fair. My heart literally hurts."
