Heartbroken mum of 12-year-old who died from asthma attack asks 'wear pink or purple' at funeral

The devastated mother of a 12-year-old girl who died from a shock asthma has asked mourners to wear bright colours at the funeral.

The family of Katy Bulpitt have revealed that her funeral will take place next week at St Joseph’s Church in their hometown of Cumbernauld.

Heartbroken mum Tracy Bulpitt said the schoolgirl was her “precious angel” and has requested friends and family wear pink or purple in tribute to her late daughter.

Katy passed away on Tuesday, November 2 shortly after suffering the fatal attack.

Mum Tracy also revealed that her father, Robert Speirs, had died on Tuesday aged 71.

The funeral Mass will take place at 10am on Wednesday in St Joseph’s followed by burial at Eastfield Cemetery.

There will be a gathering at the Burroughs social club and Tracy advised: “Anyone wishing to attend is welcome and we request attendees wear something pink or purple.”

A Gofundme has been shared to help support Katy's family ahead of the Christmas holidays and pay for funeral costs.
