Heartbroken mourners lay floral tributes to Scots 'Billy Elliot' teen ahead of funeral tomorrow

A child ballet star dubbed 'the new ' will be laid to rest tomorrow after being found dead at his home aged 14.

Jack Burns was tipped to be a rising star within Scottish Ballet.

Jack trained at the Elite Academy of Dance in and also at the Royal Conservatoire in and drew comparisons with Billy Elliot, a role he auditioned for in 2015.

He was described as an 'inspiration' by his teachers, after taking up dancing seven years ago.

He attended St Columba's School in Kilmacolm,Inverclyde.

Floral tributes have been paid to the tragic teen outside Greenocks Royal Academy Classical Ballet School.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Around 3.30pm on Sunday December 1, 2019, police were called following the death of a 14-year-old boy within a house on the Esplanade in Greenock.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of his death which police are not treating as suspicious.

"A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal."
