'Heartbroken' man's search for teenage sweetheart he met on holiday 12 years ago

A 'heartbroken rugby player is on the search for his teenage sweetheart who met on holiday 12 years ago.

Jordan Scott, 25, recently uncovered a pile of letters from his former sweetheart in his bedroom - he says it left him "heartbroken".

The love letters have inspired Jordan to reconnect with his teenage crush, HullLive reports.

They met when Jordan was 14 in France which he visited on a Hull KR rugby trip to Perignan.

When Jordan went for a swim at his hotel's pool, he met a 13-year-old named Katie who he "liked the look of".

"She made me laugh and smile", Jordan said.

But the romance came under pressure after Jordan returned to his home in East Yorkshire while Katie went back to hers in the West Midlands.

One of the letters said: "My world lights up when I see you and it makes me have butterflies."

Upon reading the letters, Jordan said he was "heartbroken" and after all this time it "feels like I have lost a loved one".

The 25-year-old said: "At the time I stayed in touch with her, but then lost contact after so long.

"Now I have found these letters, I want to see if I can rekindle the love and ask her questions."

Jordan shared a post on Facebook in an attempt to get Katie back - the post has since gained 243 and over 30 shares.

Jordan shared a picture of some of the letters, and said: "Anyone know a Katie from West Midlands.

"Get in touch, we will have a chat, I miss you I remember we was together on holiday about 12 years ago."

One individual said: "That’s my neck of the woods.. might know her."

Jordan said: "No way, get us a date sorted."

While another added: "Get it on Twitter Jord, hope you find your soulmate."

The "heartbroken" man is asking if anyone knows who his long-distance crush is to get in touch as soon as possible by emailing news@hulldailymail.co.uk.
