Heartbroken little girl desperate to be reunited with Theodora, the much-cuddled teddy pig she lost at Dublin Airport

A heartbroken little girl is desperately hoping she can be reunited with her “utterly irreplaceable” teddy pig that sadly got lost at Dublin Airport last week.

Nine-year-old Imogen Gardner’s mum Elizabeth is appealing to airport workers and travellers going through the busy north Dublin plane hub to look out for ‘Theodora’, a well-worn and much-cuddled stuffed toy that a was “once pink but now grey with love".

Theodora was last seen between Terminal 2 and US pre-clearance on January 23, just before the family boarded a flight to Seattle, Catherine said on social media as she pleaded with the public to help find the missing teddy pig.

Elizabeth appealed on social media for help to trace Theodora, saying the little lost piggy is “missed by a distraught child”.

She said: “She is a pig teddy with a star on her foot and a sewn-on heart to cover a hole (from being cuddled so much) her tail shows signs of repeated sewing back on, and so does her head.

Elizabeth continued: “She was wearing a knitted bright pink scarf, knitted by her young owner. She’s missed by a distraught child. Utterly irreplaceable. Please help.”

Imogen herself has drawn up a beautifully detailed photo-fit of her missing best friend, which shows many of the features her mum described.

It also draws attention to Theodora's "small mouth", "grey/pink fur" and "pink hooves". The little pig's tail and head have been “sewed on countless times” and her blue heart was “sewed on by Mum”, the photo-fit's captions helpfully inform.

Tweeting out an SOS message with the hashtag #findtheodora, Elizabeth added that the family went to Burger King, Sunglass Hut, Loop and WH Smith while in the terminal at Dublin Airport.

WH Smith came back to Ms Gardner, unfortunately however, they didn’t have good news.

The bookseller said it was very sorry to hear that Imogen and Theodora had been split apart, adding: “The only thing we can suggest is if you have lost property at Dublin, Airport, contact the Lost Property team… fingers and toes crossed!"

We couldn't agree more - fingers, toes and hooves crossed too.
