A fundraiser has been launched to help three brothers who have been separated after their mum died suddenly.
Melanie Rafferty passed away last week after suffering from mental health problems leaving behind her three sons aged between 16 and 23.
Liam, 16, Daniel, 23, and Owen, 21, have been unable to return to their home in Knightswood and are currently living separately with family.
A family friend has now launched a fundraiser to help the brothers get back on their feet and under the same roof.
Danny James told Glasgow Live: "It's been a really sad time for the family. I live nearby and Melanie was always a friendly face, she would stop to chat in the garden and always had time for my two-year-old son.
"You could tell that she adored her boys, she's brought them up so well and they're a real credit to her.
"Youngest Liam sadly found his mum and it was very traumatic for him and he now doesn't want to go back to their house.
"Currently, two are with an uncle in Motherwell and one is in Knightwood. They've got two dogs that have had to be separated as well."
He added: "There was no money left so they've got funeral costs and their lives to rebuild. I think their plan is to try to find somewhere together so we want to help them do that."
"They're a close family so they need to be together."
With a post mortem still to be held, Melanie won't be laid to rest until later in the month. Her loved ones are hoping to give her the send-off she deserves and give her sons some financial stability to see them through the difficult months ahead.
Danny adds: "They're a close family so they need to be together, hopefully, we can get them there."
