'Heartbroken' family will hold funeral for Dublin girl Chantelle Keenan after death in tragic accident

The heartbroken parents of a young girl who died in a tragic accident will lay their daughter to rest later this week.

Seven-year-old Chantelle Keenan from Finglas West in Dublin, passed away after a car rolled over her in a driveway at Boyle O’Reilly Terrace in Drogheda, Co Louth at around 2.30pm.

It is understood that a number of children were playing close to the car when it began to move.

Chantelle was seriously injured at the scene and was immediately rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A death notice on RIP.ie reads: "Chantelle, aged just seven years, will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken Daddy and Mammy John and Kathleen, brother Michael, sister Chelsea, grandfathers, nannies, aunts, uncles, friends from school, extended family, neighbours and friends.

"Fly with the angels, our beautiful baby girl".

Chantelle's wake will be held in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Main Street, Finglas on Wednesday, July 10, from 2pm to 4pm.

A funeral mass will be held in St. Canice's Church, Finglas Village on Thursday morning, July 11, at 11.30am, followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery.

Tributes from friends and family have poured in online for the tragic youngster.

One said: “RIP little angel, I’m so sorry for your loss.”

Another said: “May God mind her, it’s all so terrible. RIP little lady.”

Another mourner added: “Poor little princess, rest in peace x”.
