Heartbroken family's tribute to 'kind, caring, loving and funny' 23-year-old killed in crash

The heartbroken family of a 23-year-old who died in a crash in mid-Wales have paid tribute to a “kind, caring, loving and funny” young man.

Joseph Davies died on Saturday following a three-vehicle crash near the village of Walton in Powys.

The collision involved a red Mitsubishi Shogun, a grey BMW, and a silver Ford Focus which was being driven by Mr Davies, who was from the Canon Pyon area of Hereford.

His family have now paid tribute to him, with his mother saying that her son “lived life to the full” and has left “a great dent in so many hearts and tears of laughter and joy”.

She added: “To those who knew him by Joe he will still live on in their thoughts.

“He has left this world too soon and left me with such a sad loss but I have the job of looking after Ovie, his black Labrador. I will miss my first born son and his siblings have lost a big brother who they both deeply adored.

“We will all meet again one day soon but not today Joseph. All our love Mum, Jacob, Jesssica, Mae, Frankie and Ovie xxx .”

In another tribute paid by ‘Dad, Ruth and children’, they said: “Our hearts are broken, on Saturday evening our world was torn apart by the tragic loss of our eldest son and brother.

"From the moment he was born 23 years ago, he shone a bright light into our lives. He was kind, caring, loving and funny. He was loved by all who knew him.

To Joe, ‘family was everything’ and to us ‘Joe was everything’.”

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the fatal crash, which happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday evening (December 12) on the A44 west of Walton, Powys.

Anyone with any information, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101.
